We are looking for a passionate lawyer to help us with vetting all legal matters concerning the studio. This is a consultant/freelance position.

Bakarmax is an award winning comics and animation studio which appeared in Shark Tank season 1, incubated at IIM Bangalore – We are currently working on our first animated series – Aaapki Poojita.

RESPONSIBILITIES
we work with a number of clients, both Indian and International, vendors and contributors, participate in a number of domestic events and routinely hire interns and full time staff. The kind of legal work is as follows

Client work contracts: Most of our client work projects are one time work for hire. Mostly we send our standard contracts, but time to time client insists on their contracts.

Employment/Vendor contracts: On hiring of new talent in full time, vendors. Standard contracts exist. They upkeep and maintenance.

Intellectual property matters: Time to time we get into deals which involve intellectual property. We would want our legal counsel to have knowledge of this space.

Risk assessment: As original storytellers we work on lot of concepts and ideas and would need risk assessment from time to time. Informal advice.

QUALIFICATIONS
Lawyer: A lawyer with at least 3-6 years of experience.
Turnaround time: Email turnaround time of a day and chat response time of few hours on urgent matters.
Intellectual Property and service: Knowledge of Intellectual Property rights and service contracts.
Availability for Calls: Should be available for calls with the team at a reasonable notice
