This comic is drawn by and was born off this random sketch Rakesh Nanda made of a child with an orange type thing. Adhiraj and I saw this and knew that there was a longer story here!
For those who don’t know Rakesh Nanda – he is an animator, illustrator and is at the moment working on a comic of his own – based on school memories and childhood. Rakesh is a rare kind of design school graduate – he is talented. He is one the two most good looking men working in Indian comics today, the other being Anupam Arunachalam (Mr.Comics 2014)
This comic could not be complete without the insights of a bullied stammering little boy that Adhiraj Singh was, I mean is. He is not available for comment for he is recuperating from his sex change operation.
I knew Adhiraj since (s)he was Adhitri. We dated in school for a while before she realised she liked girls. But homosexuality was not as acceptable then as it was now and so she decided to go all the way instead. Her parents were not only understanding but also supportive. And though I miss those romantic evenings we spent together, I am happy for ‘Adhiraj’ 🙂
For the record, I look better than that sketch. And am looking forward to beating anupam this year.
Good looking men you say? *stalks them both*
Also, is the last panel out of aspect ratio? Or is it just me? Orange papa looks squashed.
no it was drawn like that.
